Yes, I have. After I have tried all reasonable methods, I had run Sax2, made some fictive changes so it has written conf as new and then I got the thing in order. Is interesting, that I have never heard anyone else to talk this about and I started to think, that maybe this is an issue with my graphics card (integrated intel 845).

Thanks for taking an interest in my problem.
Are you saying your problem was cured by making these fictive changes?
I've got a Nvidia card but I did have problems with the X display so your solution might work for me too. However, I'm a little reluctant to fiddle with sax2 because it was such a struggle to get my X display working at all. When I run sax2 I get a blue marching "out of synch box" across my screen. I don't want to jeopardise my current working setup by altering anything!
Also, I'll describe my disaster(s). First, after installing I always some time use only KDE, with font size 12 it looks good and all settings can be applied correctly. When I first run Gnome, after returning to KDE fonts are huge, so I must set them to 10, then they are the same size as were 12 in beginning.. Kmail message and editor windows remain with huge fonts, changing settings doesn't affect them. Looks like my windowing system thinks that it must use now 100 dpi fonts instead of 75 dpi and I cannot find a configuration item to tell him, that it is a wrong guess... :) ain
