9.0 and vmware

Well guys and gals, yes there are some very bright ladies on this list...
Installed 9.0 on my laptop, my test machine, and can't get vmware to run. I
followed the suggestion found at
http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2003-Oct/3516.html and was not
successful getting it to run. vmware will always seg-fault when starting
the virtual machine.
I installed km_vmware and always get an error about, this is from memory,
expecting (something) 50 but got 10.
The results are the same if I use 3.2.1 or 4.0.5. Follow the directions to
a T will out luck. Even tried to start a fresh VM without luck. Back to
the drawing board I guess. Any one else been able to get VMware to run?
