What happened with kweather in SuSE 8.2? It is mentioned in the ktoys 3.1.1-60, but does not come with it anymore. Thanks.
It's not in 9.0 either.

KWeather is in 8.2 and 9.0. Don't think its working quite right as far as auto updates go. Mine seems to never or rarely update.

It's fine in 9.0 IF you put it on the panel ( right click on an empty spot.. add ->applet-> Kweather It needs to be configured and have some location ( airport) that it goes to in order to get teh info, you can also setup the network stuff in the configure screen/window You also need to notice, as I'm certain everyone already has , and uncheck the "work offline mode" that never updates , since it doesn't expect to go online, I guess. IT works great here Fred.. I'm keeping an eye on it since there was some muttering from teh weather guessers here that perhaps a formerly Dead "tropical storm" Philip ?? might decide to start overm adn could make a hard left and southward motion and land on our doorsteps after all...
Ok, so I put it on the panel.. (where it's been since 8.2) and went to configure it. It already has a 4-char code, and I see nothing about setting up anything for a network other than the offline box. (unchecked) All I get out of it is 'network is unavailable'. I even brought over the (working) copy of 8.2 and it gave me the same error. Yet I put tcpdump on it and I don't see any network activity whatever. I think it's borken. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
