Thanks for the link. I installed mplayer, but it doesn't come-up when I type it. I got xine to install. many dependencies I had to get from different werb sites and then also it won't start. I wonder if I need to reinstall the multimedia section of SuSE 9.0 I left out. Did you have to uninstall Xine ot Mplayer first? Anyway the cds aren't getting stuck. Thanks

I just want to play dvds. I donloaded all the stuff from http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/ and installed through YAST. I had uninstalled all earlier media players. Xine just gets stuck and drive bay don't open. There was an error during libdvdcss and I installed anyway and took the no-lock option. Any help on how to get Xine to install on 9.0 would be apreciated. I installed the same way with 8.2 no problems. With 9.0 it asks for the install disks twice and I follow so but too no avail.
Why not try packman.links2linux.org and download xine there... as well as mplayer and lots of other stuff.
The reason I say this is that I downloaded the mplayer stuff today onto a fresh 9.0 system and immediately started playing a dvd.
Put all of your downloads into one directory and then issue:
rpm -Uvh *
That's it. Simple.
