Hi,
Just wanted to drop a line on the list to let everyone know what the situation is regarding usr-local-bin.org and SuSE 9.0.
I've been busy building packages for 9.0, and after having had loads of
problems because of glib and glib2 both being in the same prefix as gnome on 9.0, I'm now pretty confident I'll be replacing the 8.2 packages on the site with the 9.0 ones on Monday. That means you have four days to make sure you're up to date, or to use APT archive after that.
Things that are ready to go are:
- ULB GNOME 0.6.0 - The Enterprise GNOME desktop based upon SuSE 9.0[*]
- Galeon 1.3.9 - GNOME web browser based upon Gecko
- Evolution 1.4.5 - The GNOME Mail and Groupware client
- AbiWord 2.0.0 - Cross platform word processor
- GNOME-DB 1.0.1 - GNOME Database access libraries, now with MS Access support
- Mozilla 1.5 - The uber-web browser
- Epiphany 1.0.4 - The other (official) GNOME web browser based upon Gecko
- gnome-themes-extras 0.4
I'm pretty confident that by Monday I will also have the following built:
- Gaim 0.71 - Cross-platform instant messenger
- Gnumeric 1.2.1 - The GNOME Spreadsheet
- gLabels 1.92.0 - Program for creating labels and business cards
- GStreamer 0.6.4 - Multimedia infrastructure, no longer required for ULB GNOME, in it's own section of the site, along with:
- Rhythmbox 0.5.3 - Music and internet radio player, and...
- Sound Juicer 0.5.5 - CD Ripper, and...
- gst-player 0.6.0 - video player based upon GStreamer
Other packages will follow in due course.
[*] And a bunch of core GNOME components built to support it, as well as a theme package.

Incredible James! I for one want you to know I appreciate all the work you do in keeping these packages up to date as well as making them look good! I'm sure I speak for just about everyone here when I say you're an asset to the list AND SuSE. Keep up the good work!
