I downloaded almost all files from a ftp server to my Computer, and set it as my ftp server to install suse 8.2. After loaded kernel and set hardware , the installation can not go on with a error in "Software",that is "cannot read package data from installation media", but ftp has not problems. I want to know which file has not be downloaded to my computer before.
I think there is a install log, somewhere in /var/log; only that during the first part of the install is a ram disk and the new install is somewhere else - but you can see where the new root is mounted by isuin the 'mount' command on a console. [Ctrl][alt][F1]..[F12] will cycle through the different consoles. Somewhere there you probably can see the package that is being downloaded at the moment. Also have a look at the support database (SDB) at the suse webpage: I think I saw that error message mentioned. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
