Hi all, I am doing a project with jboss and tomcat in linux. I am going to create more than one environment for testing. Hence, I want to separate each environment by unique port numbers. I firstly checked /etc/services and pick out around 80 numbers from 1024 to 49000 which are available yet. Then, I append those ports in the /etc/services in the right syntax. now my question comes out. How could the service of the port I defined just now knows the right application is trying to use it? May I do something like access control -- only files in specific directories could use those ports, or only specific users could use those ports? I got the idea to achieve the task because the application I am working with will be delivered to our customers whose server might have many applications which might use any same ports as I defined. with best wishes Zheng Sun _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963
