uml is part of the 2.6 kernel (it got merged quite a while ago). i
imagine that they mean there is a rpm of the 2.4 kernel that includes the
uml patches.

depends on which 64-bit proc you are looking at. if you're looking at a
base athlon64, then go ahead. if you're looking at a athlon64fx, you
should wait til spring when they switch over to the new packaging (939-pin
vs 940-pin) which will allow you to use unbuffered ram (the kind you can
easily get).
as for what the 64-bit version of suse comes with, it should be exactly
the same as suse pro for x86, just compiled for the amd64.
