Here's what I found for gphoto (which works with digikam)

	"Aiptek Smart Megacam" (TESTING)

So, unless it works with PTP, I would say no, it doesn't work. 

I had the same problem with my Canon A70. I couldn't get it to work with Digikam. So I had to buy a card reader last night.
