I have managed to get cxmame to work (with xmame.SDL), but I figured if I managed to get the svgalib RPM, then I could get advancemenu working, because it looks so neat, but I will try your program in a minute. The box is only a pentium 133 so I expect it will crawl running any of the games, but it will creep if I run it under X. I take it you haven't managed to get the SVGALIB RPM then and compiling from source is a non-starter? I am actually going to be building my own arcade cabinet and I just need a front end. What is the scale2x option and how would you pass this into xmame? My computer isn't capable of booting from a CD ROM, nor is it capable of using the framebuffer, so my options are limited. Heheh, no kidding. ;) I went from advancecd to trying to get xmame to compile with svgalib to see what speed I could get using scale2x. I'm trying to decide if I want to include X on a bootable MAME cd/dvd together with my front-end (www.xs4all.nl/~phulshof). My front-end doesn't need it (written in SDL), but my speed experiences with SDL for xmame were not that good.
