kernel 2.6.0-test5

can some explain me please the difference bettween vmlinuz bzImage and
vmlinux and System.map..
if i compile the kernel 2.6.0 -test5 at the end i have a System.map and a bzImage ...then i put them into /boot directory ..and then what i have to do to make the system boot properly using groob?
on my system i have the LVM..and reiserfs ..can someone please tell me where to find the LVM support in the make xconfig menu?
