I have a question. Why use that old crusty looking GTK1 app that they've barely updated in 3 years. Why not use GAIM which does AIM, Yahoo!, ICQ and almost every other protocal. It works great...I've not had a problem talking to anyone I know on the various IM networks and it's a very nice looking, full featured client. Give it a look. Best place to get the most up to date package is usr-local-bin.org.
I got that idea from another one, and installed it without any problems. But there seems to be problems, maybe to my firewall. I dont know if its right. If I want to chat, a window appers telling, "You are not currently signed on with any protocols that have the ability to chat". What I have done is to set up Yahoo. -- Med venlig hilsen - Best regards. Erik Jakobsen - eja@urbakken.dk. Licensed radioamateur with the callsign OZ4KK. SuSE Linux 8.2 Proff.
