Does anyone else have problems with Mozilla 1.4 or Mozilla-Firebird 0.6.1 as far as cookies are concerned. It seems that they seem to just be losing themselves. I was reading salon.com this morning and then went back a couple hours later..and had to re-login. This kind of thing happens with no rhyme or reason..I can sometimes go days without having to login again after I've told a site to remember me. This started with 1.4beta1 and has continued..never happened with 1.3.1 and below.
I'm using Mozilla 1.5b, 200300906, and Firebirs 0.6.1+, 20030903, and the cookies are working fine.
I know it's a waste of time to ask, but did you check the settings for the cookies in the Privacy settings?
Yeah. I have both Mozilla 1.4 and MF 0.6.1 set to just accept all cookies. It's weird. I'm not sure why this happens.
In both Mozilla's /.mozilla and Firebird's /.phoenix directories and the sub-dirs /default/*.slt/ there is a generated file called cookies.txt. Have a look at it and see if it contains the cookies for the sites you visit. It would pay to access this/these file/s from another Desktop while you are on-line just to check if some are disappearing while you are on-line. My cookies.txt contains no cookies because my Privacy settings are configured to accept cookies only from the originating site and keep them only for the duration of the session. (In fact, even during a session I may Clear the cookies before going to a particular site.) Cheers. -- Understanding only begins with the act of perception.
