Yes, it is one of the programs I use, and I thought that was the one. But
for some reason, it doesn't create thumb images in two directories I have,
where the images are about 10 Mb png files. I don't know how to control
that...

Ah, I see now. I got them created now! It is under the buttom "Windows",
menu "visual schnauzer" (whatever that means: jdictionary says it means
"schnauzer" {recursive: see recursive}) , and then "rescan". I get a nice
window with thumb images, and the directory ".xvpics/" got created and
filled with about 5 Kb thumb images, and that is precissely what I wanted:
I wanted to email those, instead of the big files ;-)
