I'm sure this has been covered before, but please indulge me.
SUSE 8.2 has a number of video players (kplayer, xine) but for some copyright reason dvd playback is disabled in all these packages.
If I want to play DVDs, what's my best option. Download a package from scratch or patch something like xine? If the former, what's the best package. If the latter, what file am I looking for? I've searched the net to some extent, without a lot of success, and since I'm suffering from a very slow dial up connection, downloading and trial by error is not really an option.
Thanks for your help. I use Xine that I douwnloaded and compiled from their source at their homepage. It works great for DVD's and I haven't had any trouble with it. My opinion is download from scratch and dont mess with the crippled SuSE versions. Good Luck.
