Hi, I am running open ssh (version 3.0.2) on a suse 8.0 system. It is running as a stand-alone daemon, and is not started from inetd. This works fine and I can connect to it using RSA authentication from windows XP (using PuTTY). When I scan the suse box using nmap or CFI LANGuard, both detect port 22 to be in listening mode as you would expect. Similarly, if I telnet into port 22 I get the standard ssh banner reflected back, so I'm sure that this port is open. The problem is that executing 'netstat --inet -an' on the suse box does not report port 22 as being in listening mode. Similarly, executing 'fuser 22,,' doesn't pick it up either. Both commands will show the established session once you connect to the port. Has anyone else experienced this problem and can anyone offer an explanation ? Thanks.
