Nevertheless, after having "discovered" grip via the suggestion below, I still prefer that product from now on for ripping/encoding.
Grip is a nice problem, but I find the the default options are not as good as they can be. I suggest you change the commandline of oggenc and lame (and only use lame for mp3). Here are my suggestions: lame: --preset standard %w %m If you have an older version use --alt-preset standard instead. If you are an audiophile, you might want to use --preset xtreme. oggenc: -o %m -a %a -l %d -t %n -q 6 %w Change the -q setting to the quality level you desire.
