David: I had a few strange issues with kdevelop too. Try their alpha release called gideon. It's somewhat similair but a complete re-write. It has been working really well for me for C/C++ . Granted their are a few quirks but nothing major to stop me like you've described. On Thursday 14 August 2003 10:14 pm, David Orriss Jr wrote:
I'm trying to get KDevelop to work, but I can't get the configure to work on a new projects... Before I sign onto a myriad of lists I thought I'd ask here first...
When I make a new project in KDevelop based on the KDE Normal and then run the "Configure" script it generates I get:
checking for rpath... yes checking for KDE... libraries /opt/kde3/lib, headers /opt/kde3/include checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... configure: error: not found - you need to install kdelibs first.
I did some googling and found a reference to potentially missing files (kdewidgets .so and .la) Now, I HAVE the kdewidgets.so and kdewidgets.la files (always have). Why is this still giving me this error?
This is using KDevelop 2.1.5 under KDE 3.1.3 in SuSE 8.2.
tia!!
