Please not susezilla. It's fine as it is. Even if feedback gives you nothing, this list is the best in the world. Let's keep it like this. Cheers, Steve On Friday 08 August 2003 20:22, tallison@tacocat.net wrote:
Hi,
I'm wondering it anyone on this list has discussed the need for a SuSE bugzilla like Redhats?
The reason why I am asking, is that I find the feedbackforms that SuSE provide sorely lacking in both functionality and feedback. I like to give feedback to some packages that I use (cyrus-imapd, openldap, etc) so that they may become better.
However, the feedback forms do not make it possible to add patches, specfiles of follow up to see if the feedback has been considered or dropped.
Is it just me, or do others agree on this?
It is impossible for SuSE to generate perfect packages all the time, and more user feedback would increase the quality of the distro. All other distros have gone down this route to get better quality and testing.

This is a great idea, but before we go with a web interface I would encourage you to considering the reportbug application from Debian.
It has some added functionality of building a list of various related packages that are installed, their version, and space for you to add patches, comments, anything and then is shipped out via email.
