Thanks if you have read this far. I do not want to jump into this change too quickly and screw up a working system. I cannot see any problems with the above but I would like others advice if they is a potential problems.
I don't see any risk in the whole operation, just try it. As far as I can see, you won't be making any changes to your two existing drives before step 4) was successfull, so nothing will happen to you current setup. If any of your steps don't work out, just stick your old hda back in and nothing has changed... and then figure out what went wrong.
