Jerry, Thanks for the info. I took your advice and set up KMail for local. After I posted the thought came to me that I had two MTA's running, fetchmail and KMail. When KMail wasn't running fetchmail would and retrieve messages off the server. Since it couldn't find a place to forward the email it bounced it. At least that's my thought on it. I've set up the MTA using YAST for no connection so I'll see if my theory is correct :-)) Thanks! Eric On Friday 01 August 2003 09:18, Jerry Feldman wrote:

I'm using a dial-up connection, I'm the local user and I forward root's email to eric (me). Any ideas on what's going on. Below is a header. Doesn't Status: U mean undeliverable?
/var/spool/mail/eric is where sendmail places email. You should be able to configure kmail to fetch mail from both your pop server and local mail. If you had a full time connection, I would probably recommend using fetchmail to get mail from the POP server, but IMHO, using KMail to get your mail from the server is preferable when on a dialup.
