So I tried rpm -U 'abiword package' which didn't work because of a failed dependency: libfribidi.so.0 is needed by abiword-1.99.2. I do a google search and come up with fribidi-0.10.4.tar.gz from fribidi.sourceforge.net which I installed. Still I get the same dependency error.
Quoting from the AbiWord page on usr-local-bin.org "The package is dependant on fribidi which can be found on the SuSE CDs or FTP server." Installing it from source won't sort out RPM's dependencies, as RPM knows nothing about anything not installed by RPM.
How do I get Yast to load rpms that are on my hard drive?
yast -i package.rpm
How do I resolve the libfribidi.so.0 dependency?
