I'm am runing SuSE 8.2 on a Compaq Evo N1020v Laptop with an ATI IGP 340 M vidcard. There do not appear to be drivers available for this card so I am currently using VESA Framebuffer. It automatically set the resolution to 1280 x 1024 during setup and no other resolutions are listed when I open the display configuration applet. When I try to use YaST2/SaX2 to add some resolutions everything appears to go fine. i.e. no error messages. But when I restart I get a GRUB error 23 - Error while parsing number. A quick look at my menu.lst file tells me the problem is that it has set vga=nil. If I replace the menu.lst file with an older good copy everything boots up fine but there are no additional resolutions, just good ol' 1280 x 1024 again. Is there a way I can manually add some resolutions or make SaX behave properly? _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
