Hi guys! I have just installed suse 8.2 pro on a p3 1ghz 256mb ram 20gb hdd that I use as a router for my LAN. I started a vnc server on it so that I can administer it from my workstation to configure it, and although the server is running, I cannot connect with a vnc viewer to it... root 14234 0.0 1.9 6700 5008 ? S 09:31 0:00 Xvnc :1 -desktop X -httpd /usr/share/vnc/classes -auth /root/.Xauthority -geometry 1276x1000 -depth 16 -pixelformat rgb565 -rfbwait 120000 -rfbauth /root/.vnc/passwd -rfbport 5901 -fp /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/ -co /usr/lib/X11/rgb I get the "failed to connect to server" problem... PS There is no firewall installed on that router yet, I want to run and configure suse firewall 2 that is included in the suse 8.2 pro package... BTW, do you guys have some recommendations about how to configure it properly (both vnc server and firewall :)). Thanks a bunch Daniel --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
