Yesterday, I tried booting with SuSE CD #1, and I selected the option Rescue System.
Try booting installed system. IIRC, it will give you the choice of XP or Linux. Boot Linux, which will be using your system. Open Yast>System>Bootloader, tell it to write it to the mbr, reboot, done
The option Installed system drives me to the Win XP boot manager instead of my SuSE Linux 8.1, as have been sugested.
Doesn't it give you a choice? I was saying to NOT choose the Rescue System, but boot installed system. But, I now see you are using 8.1, which I never used, so maybe it is different. I assumed 8.2.
