I've got the VMWare download, and a trial license, just gotta get into the docs and see what the procedure is for setting it all up. Mostly, do I reformat the hda and allocate DOS/fat32 partitions, let VMWare do it, how to install the Winapps via vmware, etc.

The only Winapps apps that I have to use is Word 2000, and Project 2000. I've been able to do everything else a network engineer could hope to do via Linux.
If those are the only things you need windows for then forget vmware (a very good product, but too expensive and you STILL need a legal copy of windows). Instead Go to http://www.codeweavers.com/home/ and invest the princly sum of $54.95 and install your Word 2000 and Project using their CrossOver Office software.
