Obviously non of you ever lived in France. Despite the "laissez-faire" image they will make you quickly see the Germans as flexible and easy going, and the "teachers" there as not so many and more funny than bad. Been there, done that. With the Germans I could always discuss, whatever I had "done" wrong, and get them to forget the "Ordnung" with a logic discussion and a friendly request, but in France, no way, do not dare to open your mouth, just wait for the guillotine ... Expect stern words and actions. SCO may very well learn what I learned as a boy. Disobedience to Teutons is not wise, I have not too fond memories of the consequences for that. I think SCO will soon realize the same.

Being an American living in Germany, I can confirm that 100%. Ordnung muss sein! (There must be order) Germans are notorious for reporting infractions to the police (mowing your lawn at the wrong time, your garage is 10 cm too close to the street, etc.) I was actually hoping that Caldera^H^H^H^H^H^H^HSCO would do something stupid to ingore that order (i.e. the head office saying they weren't bound by German laws).
I kind of feel sorry for Hans Bayer ("president" of their German office). I know him from my SCO days and he seemed to be a nice guy. Well, the economic situation is hard all over and he is probably between a rock and a hard place.
