I transfered a text file from PC to linux. It become to a n ASCII text, with CR line terminators (see below) when it was opened using emacs. Can you advise me how to remove the CR line terminators? One solution as previously mentioned the dos2unix command. In EMACS: Just use the global replace-regex. ESC-X M-x:replace-regexp Replace regexp:CTRL-Q CTRL-M with: This will remove al the return characters. I sometimes use a $ to specify end of line. The ctrl-q is the EMACS method to quote a control character. -- Jerry Feldman
