Hello

 Every time I try to run YaST2 online update module (whether from a 
command line or in a graphics mode) it initially says:

 Trying to initialize FTP/HTTP connection....

and then immediately

 Can not connect to www.suse.de. Check your connection

I have a working connection to the internet and I can ping www.suse.de
without any problems. YaST2 online update used to work while the system was
being updated from another location (in Germany) and then all of a sudden it
ceased to work when we brought the laptop to Poland Can anybody enlighten me
on what the problem can be ? My system is SuSE Linux 8.1 Professional running
on a TOSHIBA laptop. I`ve heard rumours that YaST2 online uptade utility that
comes with a stock SuSE 8.1 can only operate in an active ftp mode, but this
should not be an issue in this particular situation as I disabled my whole
firewall to allow active FTP to check if YaST2 online update must be run 
in an active FTP mode, but unfortunately it still did not work.
