The other day I noticed KDE has released 3.1.2, and while it has links to SuSE-specific, 8.2-specific, RPM's, I'm curious to know if this will be placed on the YOU servers itself, or do I have to do the upgrade "manually" [not that it is a big deal -- as I recall, you basically download all the RPM's into a directory, then from a command line use an RPM "update" command that only updates installed programs...]
It would be nice(er), however, to be able to see this as an "upgrade" in YOU and therefore be able to "add on" or change installed components of KDE in a consistent and controlled manner...
Hi! As far as I am concerned these kind of updates will make it into YOU. However there is a way of using the supplementary-directory on the suse server to update with Yast2 to the latest version of KDE. Just have a look in the archive concerning update and KDE 3.1.2 and you'll find exact instructions. In short all you do is place the supplemetary-directory with its yast-source above your normal installation source in Yast and then hit system-update. Sven
