For reasons unknown, samba included with SuSE 8.1 did not allow me to execute directly .exe files stored on it, from Windows clients.
So, at that time, I compiled samba 2.2.9pre1 from CVS and used that.
Now, I need it to support ACLs.
./configure --with-acl-support --with-sendfile-support
checking whether to support ACLs... checking for acl_get_file in -lacl... no checking for ACL support... no checking whether to check for support sendfile... yes checking for linux sendfile64 support... no checking for linux sendfile support... no checking for broken linux sendfile support... yes
Why does it not enable ACLs?
Or maybe someone knows why I can't execute the .exe files if I use the SuSE's samba.
Thanks.
You can get Samba 2.2.8a pre-compiled for SuSE from projects/samba Or from my local mirror: ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/suse/projects/samba/i386/8.1/ Greg -- Greg Freemyer
