I use two monitors an older 14" MGC when I attend the LUG and a 19"
Futura at home.
I set up manually Horz == 60 and Vert == 60 since neither of these
monitors were in the database last upgrade.
Its cheaper to be safe than to but a new monitor.

I got the same problem with a Likom 750. It's almost a no-name monitor, so I edited XF86Config and worked.
I am interested in a fix too.

During the installation, I tried to get SaX2 to get the horizontal frequency range for my monitor, a ViewSonic GS771, correct. It's supposed to be 30-70 kHz, but SaX2 always got it slightly wrong, something like 27-70 kHz or 28-70 kHz instead. Worse, when I input the correct number for the lower bound of the frequency range into SaX2, it wouldn't take. The only means I could find to input the correct value was to edit XF86Config directly.
What's going on?
