Hi Joe,
Last night I went to upgrade again and there were some 19 or so KDE related packages as well as a few other patches, so I opened my Shell console ran apt-get update, loaded Synaptic and went through what was available. I then proceeded with the upgrade process and find that I get an error message: Sub-process bin/rpm received a segmentation fault !
When I had that happen some time back, I tried installing the packages 'manually', and there were IMHO packaging errors causing the weird problems. Doing it manually I was able to get a better handle on the exact errors, take care of them, everything went fine. I doubt it is an apt-get problem, but a situation it can't deal with. YMMV.
Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a go. John __________ This email has been pre-scanned using the latest Anti Virus software for your peace of mind.
