Hi all,
After installing SuSE 8.2, I am now getting static through my speakers at low volume, which I did not have with SuSE 8.0. The sound card is an Ensoniq AudioPCI ENS1370.
The static starts as soon as the sound server starts on system boot. I have tried adjusting the volume & other settings in YAST but this does not help.
Moin, moin, I do not know if it helps with this issue but problems with the sound at least in KDE can often be solved by manually setting the sound configuration in terms of sampling-rate (48000), 16-bit and Sound Server to ALSA. Maybe worth a try, go to the KDE Control-Center > Sound & Multimedia > Sound System > Sound In/Output. Sven
I must admit that SuSE 8.0 Pro installed much easier & with far less hassles than 8.2 Pro. I have been using SuSE as my only OS since 7.1 & so far have found 8.0 the best to configure without any bugs. Just my two cents :-)
Thanks,
Jasmine
