I'm using a 250 MB Parallel Port Zip drive with SuSE 8.1. I just ran YaST-Install Software and searched for the Zip drivers. The driver could not find the drive until I put it on the primary parallel port, and my Epson Laser Jet would print garbage when sharing the port with the drive. I moved my printer cables around and put the Zip and my old dot matrix on the primary port, and the Epson on the 2nd port. I had one in 8.0 but haven't reinstalled it. If it's a parallel port Zip drive you may have to use (as root) # modprobe imm to be able to use it at all. If that works, the drive should be available on /dev/sda1. Try # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt to mount it. I think the process is easier if you have a USB zip drive. There are probably some instructions on http://www.tldp.org/ I created /media/zip as a directory and put the following line in /etc/fstab /dev/sda1 /media/zip auto rw,noauto, user, exec 0 2
