Are there any dependencies of Email Server 3 going through a 7.0 Professional Firewall setup. I am having problems getting the mail to relay through...some people here think since the kernel versions are different, that this could be an issue... But I am under the impression that I might need a new firewall software. So it just depends on 'how' it locked. -----Original Message----- From: Ken Schneider [mailto:kschneider@rtsx.com] Sent: Monday, May 19, 2003 6:31 AM To: SuSE Users List Subject: Re: [SLE] reboot On Mon, 2003-05-19 at 07:13, Bruce Marshall wrote:

Hi I was wondering if someone could tell me if it is possible to set up
an cron job to have linux to reboot the macine like once an day also
if it would run the cron job even if the machine was locked up like
not allow connects in or out and not being able to use the keyboard would the crom job still be ran and would it shut down and reboot any info and ideas would be good thanks in advance Bob
It sounds like you have a problem that needs fixing.... and you're taking the usual Redmond solution for fixing it.....
Cron can indeed be setup to restart the machine at whatever interval you desire. Do a man crontab and man cron to learn how to do this. it is actually quite simple once you learn how. And NO if the machine is locked up NOTHING will reboot it other than the power switch.
