Did anyone found any workaround for the Yast installer who offers onlyRadu,
the small window with "ok" and "cancel" in a loop?
Apt-get -s upgrade offers me the "option" to re-install all the packages
I have on my system, which is not an option :D
I made all the official ftp updates on that machine... any hints? I like
Yast installer and I want it back!!!
So far the only answer I havve seen is to replace your qt3 rpm with
qt3-18.104.22.168. The steps I took were to ftp the file to my download
directory and then from the command line remove the current qt3 with the
command 'rpm -e ---nodeps qt3-3.1.2-26' (without the quotes of course)
then install the old one with 'rpm -Uvh qt3-3.1.1-71.i586.rpm'
You'll see some junk on the screen about not being able to remove some
directories after removing the newer file but just ignore it and go on. I
have no idea what if anything is broken by going back but at least you will
have yast working again. You might want to go into Yast2 after the
downgrade and mark qt3 to not upgrade so you wont have to go through this
exercise for a while.
BTW, I checked the SuSE site and other places to see if I could find the
"real" solution but found nothing. I'm surprised this hasnt drawn more
attention from the Gurus out there unless the real fix is a secret. This
affected 3 of 4 machines I have.
I did have the same problem, going back to QT3 3.1.1-62 (from the CD) did it for me.
It's strange that a few people have this problem and not more?
Send a feedback to SuSE about it, never get a answer
