Trouble with ISDN

Hi All,
I am having trouble setting up my SuSE box as an ISDN gateway for the rest of the network.
The gateway drops the first three packages when a client connects to the internet. This results in an error message when someone requests a webpage from a client machine. The DNS query times out and the browser gives an error messag. When you retry it all works fine.
Does anybody have an idea how I can make sure that the first request works? I am using SuSE 8.1 and an ISDN line.
