They didn't support 1600x1200 before, which is a showstopper for me. Do they now (nv does).
nvidia drivers have supported 1600x1200 since 0.7, which was well over 3 years ago. The NVidia cards did not support 1600x1200 in twinview mode (due to bandwidth limitations in the second channel) but that was solved with the Geforce 4/quadro 4 series. Im not sure if there are dualhead Geforce 4 MX cards, and im not sure if these support it. I've been running in 3200x1200 mode (twinview) since I got a Geforce 4 (which was around the time they got first released, sometimes it's a good thing that we make software that needs testing on cutting edge hardware ;) ) At home I have a celeron 600 w/ a geforce 2 GTS card, which I got whehn that was cuttign edge top of the line hardware (the Geforce 2 GTS that is ;) ) and I've always been running 1600x1200 . So whoever told you that the nvidia drivers did not support 1600x1200 was wrong.
