I've been impressed recently with CPU (Computer Power User).
It regularly has Linux articles. It also has Malda (of Slashdot) do a monthly column.

Well, I personally would get a subscript to pcmag. PCworld is just a M$ centric mag and basically a marketing tool. Not that PCmag is better, ok it's better IMHO but still M$ centric. I have seen more artices about Linux in pcmag, almost none in pcworld and the rare one or two was just short of blatent FUD, inaccurate, misleading and negative. Brian suggestion regarding CPU (computer powere useres) is much more preferrrable due to a more objective tone and a couple of regular columns for Linux - not bad overall. Frankly the only reason is would choose pcmag is to read the 2 pages from John C Dvorak (I know - you either like him or you don't). I had PCworld for 18 months as an extra for a donation to MADD. It's time to renew and I ain't. If pcworld and pcmag are your only two choices the I woudl definitely get pcmag. If you have more then those to get CPU. Linux mag or LJ? Nevermind :) Ok, that's my $0.02. Cheers, Curtis.
