The kernel 2.4.20RC1 patch works with gcc3.x
Question: Where can I find the kenerel 2.4.20RC1?
Not sure if the original poster ment 2.4.21-rc1 or not.
I tried looking under ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/8.2/patches and I did a search at http://www.suse.co.uk/uk/private/download/index.html for kernel 2.4.20RC1
try looking at ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4 for the kernel
package, linux-2.4.20.tar.gz, and then in
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/testing/ to find the patch
that will take you up to 2.4.21-rc1.
To create the 2.4.21-rc1 tree:
'cd /usr/src' (or where-ever you keep your kernel trees you are about to
compile) and do:
'tar zxf /path/to/linux-2.4.20.tar.gz'
move the directory to linux-2.4.21-rc1:
'mv linux-2.4.20 linux-2.4.21-rc1'
'cd linux-2.4.21-rc1'
then do:
'zcat /path/to/patch-2.4.21-rc1.gz | patch -p1'
and you have a kernel tree you can configure and build.
