How do I take screenshots from SuSE installation and from KDE Desktop (windows, menus, etc) ?
Juan, Look under Graphics in your menu for Ksnapshot. There are others as well both gui and shell driven, but Ksnapshot is simple and quick.
He'll be looking for quite some time -- even though I have ksnapshot installed, it doesn't appear in SuSE's menu (8.2, clean install) This is a minor gripe I have about SuSE & KDE: the menu isn't consistent or complete. In another response, someone mentioned the printscreen-key is mapped to ksnapshot -- I just pressed it and "nothing happened" [perhaps there needs to be a ksnapshot menu entry with "printscrn" as the keyboard shortcut?] Other programs that take screen pics: pixie plus -- not obvious, but you have to go to the MENU to find "take screen shot" -- there is no "toolbar icon" for this the Gimp -- ditto on "hard to find" -- normally in the gimp right-clicking pulls up mini-menus, but again, "screen capture" isn't on the mini-menu; instead you have to go to the "real" main menu and select "file / acquire / screenshot" - -- Yet another Blog: http://osnut.homelinux.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) Comment: http://osnut.homelinux.net/TomEmerson.asc iD8DBQE+uAquV/YHUqq2SwsRAmcqAJ9e8cQIwxnz1twkwcWe/z80LMfbxwCcCl+c 8wSJq1gKENE1AL4wpfxQ1GY= =s0Le -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
