They don't work better, as all reports, be it mail or via web site, are
fed to the same trouble ticket system.

There is only a limited number of people that sort through all those
reports, weed out spam, hate mail and other unusable things and then
take the use- and or meaningful ones and make bug reports or enhancement
requests from them. Given that sometimes hundred reports come in per
day, it takes long to work through that pile. So some reports get fed
into the internal bug tracking system without giving notice back to the
reporter. This isn't really satisfying, both for those that report and
those that handle feedback and we're trying to improve that, but it's
the current state of matters.
