Hi,
Sorry for the vague subject, I've just installed 8.2, and so far I'm impressed, its got a few niggles, but then so has all the distros, the main thing I'm finding hard is the different package names (the SuSE names don't always make sense to me at times), and configuration layout, I'm comming from a redhat background, which I have been using since 6.2, so I'm kinda still stuck in their way of doing things and certain programs are preconfigured, apache+php being one, (upgraded to rh 9, and its very slow, nfs/nis keeps crashing, alot of programs just don't work, evolution keeps bombing, glibc issues, blah!, blah!).
Anyway, can anyone possably advise me on what packages I actually need to get php running on either apache 1.3 or apache 2 (1.3 is currently installed), also quickly looking at httpd.conf it seems that it is setup for php files, except that apache just displays the directory listing of the file, without actually parsing it, which would indicate that either php is broken, missing or not configured correctly :)
I currently have apache 1.3 and phplib installed, which looking at the rpm description, seems to be what I would need
The machine I'm running it on is a workstation, on a private segregated network, so securing apache isn't really an issue here, its only for some development work anyway and localhost usage.
Cheers in advance
Mark
