greets. it has been many months since my last, largely unsatisfying, experience with wine. i have an application that is important to me; the best version of it is native OS/2, but it was ported to windows 3.1 and windows 95 as well. ages ago, when wine was utterly manually configured, i got it to install and run, but it had no access to fonts or printers and collapsed when trying to save files. a year or so ago, when i endeavored to configure wine, nothing even that useful came to pass. i'm given to understand that the wine shipped with 8.2 might be a lot better. i don't expect anti-aliasing (alas!), but it would be great if the installed fonts and so on were available, and the printer and the ability to save files are critical. are these things within it's current realm? also, given the various windows versions on the same cd, which is more likely a.) to install, and b.) work properly? tia. -- dep http://www.linuxandmain.com -- outside the box, barely within the envelope, and no animated paperclip anywhere.
