This is completely wrong. It is compiled as a module by default. All movie DVDs (that I know of) use udf as their file system, and I have had no problem using them. You can check with
zcat /proc/config.gz|grep -i udf
you should see
CONFIG_UDF_FS=m
I see this output line when I do as you suggest. (This is 8.1 though) Apparantly Chris is _not_ able to read UDF CDs Are they any different from UDF DVDs? Is the module there? Is the module loaded? Have you tried mounting the CD manually with the mount option -t udf? What error messages do you gen when you try that? Best regards :o) Johnny :o)
