Have you assigned a ServerName. (See line 50 or there abouts)
Yes I have it is: linux06.domain.com
Also in each client have you added the ServerName to /etc/cups/client.conf ?
Yes, I have linux06.domain.com. I have removed the rpm pkg cups from the client.
Please refer to 2. How can I configure Cups for Server/Client operation ? http://susefaq.sourceforge.net/cups.html
I did. It seems I did everything according your procedure. I used LogLevel debug and this is the result if I remove the client from <location />

Hi Richard,
This is rather strange. Are you using SuSE 8.2?
No, client is 8.0 server is 8.1 Perhaps it has to do with the netmask? The netmask to use is 255.255.240.0 I assume that this has impact on the BrowseAddress/Allow I had it set to: BrowseAddress 212.10.78.255 BrowseAllow 212.10.78.* And today I tested with BrowseAddress 212.10.255.255, 212.10.78.255, 212.10.64.255 and 212.10.79.255. The latter to are addresses obtained by applying the ...240.0 netmask. All values failed :(
I have not received mine as yet (takes a while for us here in Australia) so can't test this.
Will do a bit more digging at work when I get a chance on the 8.1 version. This may take a few days before I get back to you.
BTW Have you checked the /var/log/cups/access_log when you remove the Access permissions for each directory served by the scheduler.
Yes, it did not state anything special. I can post a part of it, if it may help. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
