Yes, this has happened several times to me. The idea is taht it reboots after the 1st CD, alive, and then asks for the remainder. My problem was with the partitioning (needed a /boot partition in the first 1024 cylinders) and the kernel parameter acpi=off added. (But I'm an dual processor machine, and I'm told ACPI isn't SMP stable.) As an easy solution, try the "minimal" install, it only needs the 1st CD, then you can add the rest.. Well hopefully someone can put me on the straight and narrow. For some unknown reason 8.2 Pro's installation utility will not continue past installing the first of 5 CD's. I have tried this three times now and each time it finishes with CD1 and goes into the "completed basic install mode" and proceeds to reboot. This leaves me with a dead machine and a sour taste in my mouth. I have tried entering the cmd "cdromdevice=hdc" in the boot prompt prior to running the install but still no go. I am using an LG DVD CD-RW combo drive however I'm not sure if that's even an issue. Can not seem to find any reference to this problem on the SuSE support site. Hopefully someone has run into this and can shed some light.
Thanks!
