IIRC one has to go into the Promise bios at boot up to setup the RAID config there first. I have an Gigabyte GA-7VRXP with the PDC20276 on it. I have the manual for my mobo and it talks about using the "FastBuild" utility (I've never had occasion to use this). It also mentions using this utility to create to forms of the raid array, one for performance and one for security. I believe this is all about the striping vs mirroring config for the array. Did you do this?
HTH, Curtis.
This a working machine with SuSE 8.1 that I wnated to upgrade to SuSE 8.2.
Tried almost every thing.... - Safe Install - No ACPI install - ide=reverse install.
At the moment thinking its a kernel issue.... Gone copy the 2.4.20 kernel and do a rpm --rebuild kernel-source-8.2.... And see what happens......

Stefan, There is also some info about this in the SuSE manuals included with your package. Sorry don't remember the specifics, but there was some information about handling RAIDS and Promise in particular. I realize not many read such things much now, but it may save you a bit of time in doing so. patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.9.1i --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.2 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
