Hello, you were right. the time at YaST->System->Select Time Zone was wrong. I will test it now. Problem solved. Many thanks. Marco Oliveira On Tuesday 22 April 2003 16:00, Paul Benjamin wrote:
It sounds that you have told Linux that your PC's local clock is set to GMT but live in a time zone of GMT+0100. I would go to the KDE Control Center -> System Administration -> Date & Time click on the Administrator Mode give your root password and make sure that the time zone is correct.
You should also check at YaST->System->Select Time Zone to see if your PC clock is keeping time in GMT or your local time zone.

good morning,
I use suse linux 8.1 and for mail i like to use kmail. when i send mails to my friends that use windows ME and are using mozilla, the mails get there with 1 hour more in time. the mail don't get after 1 hour, it appears with 1 more hour in the arrival time. But if you open the mail by doing double-click, the time inside is correct. So, i made some tests: -sending from my self to my self ->time ok (using kmail); -sending from my self (linux) to my self (windows XP, using outlook express) ->arrival time ok, but opening the mail, there has 1 more hour; -sending from my self (windows XP, using outlook express) to my self (using kmail) ->time ok -sending from my self (windows XP, using outlook express) to a friend (windows ME, using mozilla)-> arrival time ok, but opening the mail, there was one more hour; -recieving mails from my friends (using kmail) ->time ok
the mails that i send arrives like this : Tue, 22 Apr 2003 11:30:43 +0000 But mails that i recieve arrives like this : Tue, 22 Apr 2003 11:30:43 +0100
Can anyone try to explain what is appening ? Is my suse distro with a problem ?
Thanks for your time.
